African Union condemns coup in Guinea Bissau

Condemned the African Commission President Jean Ping, today, Friday the military coup in Guinea Bissau and considered it "unacceptable."

In a statement, "Commission President stressed that the African Union will not accept any control over the government through unconstitutional means and appeal in the democratic process in Guinea Bissau."

The army detained the Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau Carlos Gomes Jr. and Acting President Pereira Riamondo as reported close to the two men.

According to the African Union in the statement that the Lashkar-e-Guinea Bissau attacked the house of acting president in addition to the home of Prime Minister and Aatgulwhma Thursday evening, pointing out that "these unacceptable actions undermine efforts to stabilize the situation in Guinea Bissau and harm to my reputation of the country and Africa."

He Ping "regret that these events are located ahead of the election campaign for the second round of early presidential elections" scheduled for April 29, which was Gomes favorite to win.

And justified by the general staff of Guinea-Bissau intervention, which occurred three weeks after the military overthrow of the government of Mali, condemning the "secret agreement" concluded between the authorities and Angola.
