Secretary of State announced that the European Union, Catherine Ashton, said Friday that the North Korean missile launch was a "clear violation" of the decision of the UN Security Council.
She told Ashton that "trying to make today a clear violation of the obligations of North Korea International as provided for in resolution 1874 adopted by the UN Security Council," which imposes on the North to abandon the launch of ballistic missiles, expressing "deep concern about the occurrence of the serious instability of the North Korean regime ".
Ashton and urged Pyongyang to respect its international obligations and "refrain from any action that could step up regional tensions," pointing out that "the EU is ready to work with its international partners in order to contribute to the establishment of lasting peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula."
