Bangladesh launches tear gas to disperse hundreds of opposition activists

According to media reports that the Bangladesh police fired tear gas and rubber bullets, in order to disperse hundreds of opposition activists who demonstrated today during a general strike to protest the disappearance of one of the leaders of the opposition.

The channel quoted, "Franz 24" news this evening for the police as saying that more than 12 people were wounded, and four of them in serious condition.

It is reported that the violence broke out in the city of "Salette" North East, and that this city is the hometown of opposition leader, "Elias on" who disappeared five days ago.

It is noteworthy that on a regional leader of the opposition National Party in Bangladesh, and he is described as the largest political opposition disappears since he came to Prime Minister Sheikh vulnerable power in January 2009.
