Poll shows decline in Republican support for the war in Afghanistan

A poll conducted by the newspaper and saw the Washington Post, in cooperation with network ABC News, that the majority of Republicans said, for the first time, that the war in Afghanistan were not worth fighting. This comes as a stay of U.S. forces there is a major point of controversy in the race for the presidential election next November.

And expects the paper to form a challenge to the results of the poll deputy Republican Mitt Romney, Almarcj more fortunate, who said that the goal in Afghanistan should be the defeat of the Taliban in the battlefield.

The current president Barack Obama, who is seeking for a second term, has brushed aside this goal through strategic review in 2009, the end of 2014 and set a date for the departure of U.S. combat troops from Afghanistan.

In general, the survey results reflect the concern and discomfort about the war, after more than a decade of fighting in Afghanistan, and nearly 9 years in Iraq.
