The paper focused on the parliamentary elections taking place in Algeria today, and said that the Algerians go to the polls in the country which did not arrive the Arab spring, pointing to the possible participation of a very small in this election, which many deemed an insult to their intelligence.

The newspaper pointed out that Algeria's neighbors, from Arab countries have witnessed radical changes, Tunisia has managed to topple the ruling family of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and now represents a model for a smooth transition of government. In the east of Algeria, Libya, Gaddafi overthrew and his family, although there is still a struggle for stability, while Egypt is still in full revolutionary turmoil. In the West, had Moroccan King Mohammed VI of changes led to an elected government assumed by the Islamists for the first time in the history of the country.

But with the go Algerians today to cast their votes to elect a new parliament, the most exciting things surprising in this country, according to the newspaper, is what did not happen, not what happened, the sense of non-arrival of spring, the Arab to the country despite the presence of the same factors which led to the revolutions in neighboring countries.

According to The Guardian that Algeria is still ruled by a group of civilians and military personnel who make decisions, even with regard to the results of the elections, away from the glow of the media. Therefore, the paper expects that the turnout in Sunday's elections is very weak, which is suggested by most newspapers, the country's semi-free, where voters will remain in their homes to protest the electoral process that sees mostly an insult to their intelligence.

And tried to monitor the reasons that the paper did not make up the Arab spring to Algeria, said that analysts believe that the people are still shocked from the nightmare of nineties, when he was killed over a thousand people a civilian. The conflict between the army and the Islamists in that phase began with the year 1992 when the army canceled the results of the first round of elections which has achieved success where the Islamists, including payment of the country in the cycle of violence, but this probably does not want to Algerian democracy, which may drive them to violence. Some would say is another cause of economic improvement the country has experienced since Abdelaziz Bouteflika took office in 1999.
